National Pears Helene Day
This might be the only way to eat a pear, once you've tasted it. I think anything with "helene" in the title at least deserves a second glance. Go ahead, cook up a batch and see what you think.
The Ides of March
Really it just means the middle of March, but thanks to a couple of famous ancient people, it's now taken on a different connotation. I'd explain the whole thing here, but wikipedia has already done the work, so I'll let them take the credit.
